Community Soundtrack - Whitney McCombs

When we first launched our Community Soundtrack project, Whitney McCombs was one of the very first artists to send in some tracks. She’s a fantastic musician whose work we’re excited to feature; her passion for songwriting and sharing her story through music are evident in all of her songs. You can hear her on our latest short, Up, Up & Away.

Growing up, Whitney was initially influenced by her brothers’ taste in 90s alternative-grunge music before eventually developing her own distinctive acoustic sound. While she initially resisted her calling to write and perform music, pursuing at various times careers in education, healthcare, and music business, Whitney finally realized her real passion lay in songwriting. She spent a semester at the Contemporary Music Center in Nashville, where she met other musicians who shared her passion. Connections made there allowed Whitney to tour nationally and record her first EP, “Home”.

You can buy Whitney’s music on iTunes or get a physical copy of her CD through CD Baby. You can listen to the EP before buying at ReverbNation.
