BBQ. It is a southern favorite and I am surprised war has not broken out over who has the best recipe, sauce, and flavor. Traveling in the southern half of the states there are tons of different BBQ joints to choose from and it's no wonder there is such a constant sruggle to be the best.

As much as I hate the saying "World's Best", as it is thrown around so loosely, I am willing to state that Pig In Pig Out (PIPO) was the best BBQ I have ever had in this world. And according to the endless amounts of awards hanging in their restaurant, I assume that a lot of other people feel the same way.

I found this place via the wonderful world of Yelp and could not find one bad review. So, on the way through Kansas to Texas, Rob, Amy Wallace, and I decided to pull in and dig in.

I got a plate of hot links, pulled BBQ, slaw, and potato salad served with two slices of white bread. As you can see in the photo, they are not skimpy on the portions.

The pulled BBQ was been some of the most flavorful I have ever eaten. There is no need for any kind of sauce to touch the plate. In fact, if their BBQ sauce was not as good as it was I would have felt guilty putting some on. The hot links sausages were cooked perfectly and packed full of flavor. The casing was crisp and the meat cooked thoroughly. I found it to have just the right amount of heat with a hint of smokey sweetness. The slaw and potato salad were a nice addittion to the plate. Nothing that I haven't had before but still very good.

So after cleaning out every inch of my plate, one of the guys from PIPO brought over a plate of three ribs for us to try. I was overjoyed as I love ribs and they were free which makes it even better.

I fell in love at first bite. These are the best ribs I have ever had in my entire life. PIPO not only made it to my number one on my list, they set an all new high to which I am now going to compare all other ribs. I cannot think of enough words that describe these ribs and do them enough justice as well. If I am ever even close to Witchita, KS or if I am looking for a reason to go on a road trip in the future, this will be one of my priority destinations.
