One Week To Go!

One Week To Go!

The speed with which this year has flown by is quite astonishing. With just one week to go, I can't believe what we've achieved this year. At this time last year, I was ill with pneumonia, we had just recruited Amy and Steven, and we were still short of having raised the money we needed for the whole year.

But look at where we are now… We have uploaded 89 of our 100 videos and have only 3 left to film. We have appeared in print and television media, as well as in online blog posts and on the radio.

I don't mean to brag about what we've accomplished - I write this most of all with a sense of astonishment at how the whirlwind adventure we've been on has come together and become something of which I know we are all very proud.

At the half way point, we were all happy in our routines of work, knew what was expected of us, and were used to living with each other, but we didn't have the full funding, weren't sure of how we'd finish, and were all exhausted from the hectic and draining schedule we were sticking to.

Coming to the end, we are all looking forward to getting back to a more usual schedule with time to relax, not having to cross through a forest to get to the bathroom, and having a little more personal space and sleep, but I know that once the shock of getting back and finally having finished has worn off, I'll definitely be missing things about this year.

One thing is comforting though - at least we will all have the memories and experiences of this year, as well as all the videos and photos, to remind of us the whole adventure.

That and, thanks to modern technology, I'm sure I'll never be able to miss Amy Chin because I know she'll be calling, tweeting, 'Facebooking', emailing, texting, Skyping, and using every other form of communication to make sure I feel like she never left my side.
