Looking Forward: Chris

Looking Forward: Chris

Like a graduating senior, the end of our time on the bus has caused the question of "So, what's next for all of you?" to become a common refrain among almost everyone we talk to. We're all taking off on our own paths after this year, so we thought we would each share with you a little bit of our plans for life after Bus 52.

Although my primary musical output for this year has been composition, my love and desired career path lies in conducting, particularly choral conducting. I first started in college, and it was immediately clear that conducting was where my talents and passion came together. I've applied to several Masters programs in order to continue my training in the field; there are still auditions and a number of other steps in the process before I will know where I will be studying, but I find myself surprisingly excited to get back to school. In the meantime, I'll be working with my church choir (whose beautiful voices will help bring the last Album:America to life) and recording an album with the ever talented Peter Swiek (whose talents you can hear on Kentucky Air and Everything Will Be Alright). I have loved this year on the bus, but leaving is easier with so much to look forward to.
