Thrifting Dixie

Jan. 23, 2012 / by Amy Rose

Finding a good deal, in my experience, requires investing time and effort. Thrifting may be work, but for many it's a good time. We all have our favorite shops that we regularly find success - back in DC there was a great little hole the wall that had a dollar bin that is a veritable treasure chest. But what's even better then getting a deal is stumbling upon a completely unexpected mountain of well-priced, good quality, quirky clothes from any era you can imagine - Dixie Caverns had just that.

Dixie Caverns is an RV Park and tourist attraction in one, but it also has flea market attached to the gift shop. Dresses in great condition from the 60's great costume jewelry for under $20. My favorite was a leather bomber jacket that was $30, what  a deal! Check out my photos from our time at Dixie, definitely worth stopping by if you're in the area.
